Minister of Manpower Yassierli is examining a new scheme for stipends for participants in the National Internship Programme. This scheme regulates the division of contributions between the government and partner companies.

“We are examining ways to involve companies more actively, so there are already proposals that the stipend should include a shared contribution from the company, although not dominant,” said the Minister during the closing of Phase I of the 2025 National Internship in Jakarta on Friday (24/4/2026).

This review emerged after observing mentoring patterns from several companies. Some companies are deemed serious in guiding internship participants.

“This is being reviewed and prepared, because some companies that are intensive in mentoring our young interns, seriously assigning projects, with daily progress and weekly progress. That is extraordinary,” said Yassierli.

“And such commitment will be even better if we also request from the start a company commitment regarding their contribution, and the obligation to provide competency certificates at the end of the programme,” he added.

National Coordinator for the University Graduate Internship Programme, Anwar Sanusi, assessed that the implementation of the first phase ran positively. The involvement of participants and industry partners shows an increasing trend.

“Both in terms of participant engagement, industry partner commitment, and the learning outcomes achieved,” said Anwar.

The Ministry of Manpower plans to strengthen the programme’s quality in subsequent phases. Expanding partnerships and adjustments to labour market needs are the main focus.

“So that it can provide broader and sustainable benefits for these university graduates,” he said.

Participants who complete the full programme receive an internship certificate. Participants with a duration of more than three months but less than six months receive a certificate of participation.

This document serves as initial capital for participants to demonstrate work experience and readiness to enter the workforce.
