New Industrial Zone Opened in Lamongan to Boost Investment and Employment

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, LAMONGAN — PT Jakamitra Indonesia has launched the i-Sentra @Lamongan industrial zone in East Java to attract investment and accelerate regional economic growth. This zone is targeted to become a new industrial hub in Indonesia’s eastern corridor.

The development of this smart-eco-based industrial zone is also expected to create jobs and promote economic equity in Lamongan and surrounding areas.

Jakamitra Director Benjamin Soenadi stated that i-Sentra is designed as a future industrial centre with an integrated manufacturing ecosystem. “i-Sentra is built not only to attract investment but also to provide tangible benefits for the Lamongan community,” said Benjamin on Monday (30/3/2026).

The zone is said to have logistical connectivity advantages due to its proximity to deep-sea ports and the planned Tuban–Lamongan–Gresik toll road, which is a national strategic project. This position strengthens i-Sentra’s role as a distribution centre for the domestic market and eastern Indonesia region.

i-Sentra offers investment conveniences through fiscal incentives, integrated one-stop licensing services, and the Direct Construction Investment Facilitation scheme (KILK). These facilities are intended to attract foreign investment as well as domestic industrial expansion.

The zone’s development also embraces circular economy principles and renewable energy, with a focus on strengthening the local workforce. This is expected to create inclusive and sustainable industrial growth.

i-Sentra is divided into several industrial clusters, including food and beverage, chemicals, and general industries. The food cluster is one of the focuses to support commodity downstreaming and strengthen national supply chain resilience.
