New Gateway to Europe: Vietjet Launches Hanoi-Prague Route from Rp 7.2 Million

Vacationing in Europe is now easier with Vietjet’s new Hanoi-Prague route, set to commence operations on 10 October 2026. Flight fares for this route start from $405, approximately Rp 7.2 million. ‘This is a significant milestone in Vietjet’s strategy to become a global airline group. With a new generation fleet, modern technology, and an expanding network, Vietjet will soon operate more routes to Europe, allowing passengers to easily connect between Europe and Asia-Pacific, including destinations across Vietnam and Thailand,’ said Vietjet CEO Nguyen Thanh Son in an official statement, cited on Friday, 29 May 2026. ‘With Vietjet, Europe is now closer than ever. We are offering more affordable fares combined with high-quality, world-class service, which significantly boosts demand for family visits, tourism, and economic and cultural exchanges between the two regions,’ he added. Vietjet’s Hanoi-Prague flights will operate using the airline’s Airbus A330 aircraft with a stopover in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The service will initially operate twice weekly, with round-trip flights on Tuesdays and Saturdays. - The aircraft is scheduled to depart from Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi at 08:25 and arrive at Václav Havel Airport, Prague at 18:55. - The return flight departs Prague at 20:55 and arrives in Hanoi at 16:20 the following day. To celebrate the launch, Vietjet is offering promotional fares available on www.vietjetair.com, the Vietjet Air mobile app, and official ticket offices and agency partners worldwide. Prague Airport CEO Jiří Pos stated that Vietnam is the most significant market in Southeast Asia in terms of passenger numbers. ‘In 2025, over 75,000 people travelled between Prague and Hanoi in both directions. This new connection will make travel easier for the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic and their families,’ Pos said. The airport also expects the new route to boost tourism and ease access to Vietnam for Czech tourists, as well as strengthen trade relations between the Czech Republic and Vietnam. ‘Vietnam is also a key gateway to Southeast Asia, and we anticipate this route will be used for cargo transport,’ he added. Meanwhile, CzechTourism CEO František Reismüller said the air connection between Prague and Hanoi is crucial for tourism to the Czech Republic. ‘Vietnam is a market with significant potential, not only for itself but also as a transit point for other Southeast Asian countries,’ Reismüller said.
