New food center will open in November

JAKARTA: The city will have a new food court center in November with the opening of Gading Batavia in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta.

It will offer both local and international delicacies, said Sunardi Rusli, president of the developer PT Sumarecon Agung, during the center's topping off on Friday.

He hopes that Gading Batavia will become a night entertainment place, not only for Jakarta residents but also for both local and foreign tourists.

Among the traditional food outlets which will open their business there are Bakmi Babat from Salatiga, Hot Cwie Mie from Malang as well as Bakmi Naripan, Gudeg Bu Tjitro, Sate Godril, Sate Kemplang and Soto Bangkong.

Rusli said that there will be outlets selling souvenirs in the new building.

In 2003, the food center management will provide shuttle buses to take guests from star-rated hotels, he added.--JP
