New Foldable iPhone Set to Launch, Samsung Showcases More Advanced Phone
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - While reports suggest the iPhone will release its first foldable iPhone this year, Samsung has already gone further. The South Korean giant is known to already have foldable phones in its Flip and Fold series, and it seems to be pursuing even newer technology.
Samsung has just showcased a phone whose screen can slide. This Mobile Slideable concept was showcased by Samsung at the Mobile World Congress 2026.
The screen clearly differs from foldable phones currently on the market. No longer folding, but sliding, and the size of the Mobile Slideable can be adjusted simply by sliding the screen.
In a video shared by Android Authority, a person appears to pull the screen to make it longer than its initial length.
The video shows the screen enlarging as it is slid upward and would be longer for landscape orientation.
Android Authority reports that the concept would expand the screen from 5.1 inches to 6.7 inches, quoted on Wednesday (4 March 2026).
The 5.1-inch display has a 16:9 aspect ratio, which becomes 22:9 when the screen is 6.7 inches.
The phone’s resolution is 1,080 x 2,640 pixels (FHD+), at 426 ppi.
It should be noted that this is still only a concept. Samsung is still developing the Mobile Slideable screen.
It is not known how long it will take for the concept to be adopted and finally launched in one of Samsung’s phone series.
Previously, Samsung also unveiled the concept of a multi-scroll phone. The concept, called Flex Slidable, was demonstrated in 2022. The Flex Slidable screen can roll upwards, bringing the phone along with the help of a button. But there has been no recent update on the concept.
