New Fines for Forest Exploitation Violators to be Announced Next Week

President Prabowo Subianto received the Forest Area Order Task Force (Satgas PKH), led by Attorney General ST Burhanuddin, at his residence in Hambalang, West Java, on Friday (4/9).

During the meeting, the Task Force reported on the progress of findings and enforcement actions regarding various violations in forest area exploitation, including illegal mining activities.

The Task Force also reported on the progress of enforcement measures and the administrative fines, which are scheduled to be announced in the second week of September.

Quoting information released by the Cabinet Secretariat via its official Instagram account following the meeting, Prabowo emphasised that the law enforcement process against those violating forest area exploitation must be carried out firmly and professionally.

He also requested that all sequences of execution and forest area enforcement be conducted transparently and accountably, as part of the government’s efforts to protect forest areas and ensure their utilisation complies with applicable regulations.
