New feature in LG refrigerators

LG Electronic Indonesia (LGEI) has launched a new feature in its refrigerator that could preserve vitamin C in vegetables and fruits.

With the new feature, called Vitamin +, vegetables and fruit can be preserved up to two times longer than in normal refrigerators, according to the firm.

The new feature allows LG refrigerators to produce antioxidant that delay the oxidation process, which is believed to be the reason behind the decrease in the vitamin C content.

Based on tests in the LG laboratory in South Korea, the amount of vitamin C in fruits and vegetables decreases by 40 percent over seven days in conventional refrigerators, while the decrease only amounts to 20 percent in the new refrigerators.

LGEI produces several types of refrigerators equipped with the new feature, with prices ranging between Rp 1.3 million and Rp 2.5 million.
