A new fact has emerged that Siti Nurbaya’s son, Ananda Tohpati, was present at his mother’s home when investigators from the Attorney General’s office (Kejagung) conducted searches at six different locations, including the residence of former Environment and Forestry Minister (LHK) Siti Nurbaya Bakar.

The searches were conducted on Wednesday, 28 January and Thursday, 29 January 2026. The searches were related to investigation into allegations of corruption in the governance of plantations and the palm oil industry during the period 2015–2024.

“Yes, that is correct, the individual in question (Ananda Tohpati) was at the residence of SN (Siti Nurbaya),” said Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, Director of Investigation at the Special Crimes Unit of the Attorney General’s office (Jampidsus), on Monday, 2 March 2026.

Although the searches have been completed, the Attorney General has not yet scheduled formal questioning of Siti Nurbaya. Investigators are currently focused on analysing the various pieces of evidence that have been secured, including documents and electronic devices.

“Not yet scheduled, so we are currently investigating numerous pieces of evidence, electronic evidence that we seized at that time. We are investigating all of it and conducting witness examinations with several private sector individuals, people from the private sector who are connected with palm oil governance, specifically regarding processes of forest area conversion,” he said.

Previously, it was reported that following searches at several locations, including the home of former Environment and Forestry Minister (LHK) Siti Nurbaya, in relation to investigation of allegations of corruption in plantation and palm oil industry governance during 2015–2024, the Attorney General’s office was preparing to schedule questioning of the individual in question.

Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, Director of Investigation at the Special Crimes Unit of the Attorney General’s Office (Jampidsus) of the Indonesian Attorney General, confirmed that Siti Nurbaya would be summoned for questioning in the near future as part of the investigation process.

“I will schedule her questioning,” he said at the Attorney General’s office on Friday, 30 January 2026.
