West Java — A child identified as ASA (12) died bloodily at the hands of his stepbrother, MZ (28). The sixth-grade pupil was killed in a brutal manner at his home in Kampung Warung Tiwu, RT 02/16, Cipatat Village, Cipatat District, West Bandung Regency, West Java, with the death occurring on Tuesday (3 March 2026).

The suspect killed his step-sibling using a sharp weapon, resulting in a throat gash, a stab wound in the back, and a cut on the wrist. The victim was found on the second floor of the house by his mother, who had just returned from work and teaching at a madrasa.

New facts emerged about the victim, who was active at school. He was also recorded as a member of the Satria Muda Indonesia silat martial arts association. ASA was known to hold a red belt with two stripes, i.e., the kepratama utama level.

“He’s a good kid, he has been involved with Satria Muda Indonesia for three years. Now with a red belt stripe two,” said the silat coach of Satria Muda Indonesia, Gunawan, on Friday (6 March 2026).

Gunawan said the late pupil was known as a boy who quickly bonded with his fellow students. The martial arts skills for a 12-year-old were acknowledged.

“He’s friendly with his friends, good in all respects. I last met him before Ramadan, because during Ramadan the training programme takes a break. Incidentally, two are not athletes either, if they’re athletes they continue during Ramadan,” Gunawan said.

He was utterly shocked when he received the news that ASA died in such a tragic manner. Although he had martial arts training, if he were executed by an adult and caught unawares, it would be difficult to defend himself.

“So I got the news that afternoon, from my child, who told me ASA had been killed. I was shocked, and immediately came here to check,” Gunawan said.
