New Facts Emerge: Jagakarsa Motorist Assault Suspect Tests Positive for Methamphetamine

Jakarta (Republika) - Police have revealed that the perpetrator of an assault, identified by the initials FRS (37), who struck a motorist identified as AA at Al Bainah Field on Jalan Moch Kahfi II, Cipedak, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, tested positive for methamphetamine. The suspect was confirmed to have used drugs following a urine test. “We have conducted the urine test, and he tested positive for drugs. He tested positive for methamphetamine,” said Jagakarsa Police Chief Kompol Nurma Dewi to reporters at the South Jakarta Metro Police on Monday (6/7/2026). Nurma stated that the police are continuing their investigation, including determining the source of the narcotics. According to Nurma, the suspect carried out the attack based on a ‘whisper’ and his motive was simply to hit someone. “The motive was that he just wanted to hit someone. He said there was a whisper telling him to hit someone on the road,” she said. For his actions, the suspect, who has been detained, is threatened with Article 466 of the Criminal Code (KUHP) concerning assault. Furthermore, the police are also investigating a traffic violation, as the suspect was not wearing a helmet while riding. “That is correct, we have coordinated with the Jagakarsa Traffic Unit to issue a ticket. He clearly was not wearing a helmet, right? We also need to clarify the vehicle documents,” she said. The suspect may also be charged under Article 352 of the Criminal Code, which regulates minor assault, carrying a maximum penalty of three months’ imprisonment or a fine of up to Rp4,500.
