The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has reshuffled its organisational structure by appointing five new high-ranking officials, following the resignation of its head, Nanik S Deyang. This move is part of an effort to strengthen the institution while improving the governance of the Free Nutritious Meal Programme (MBG), which is currently undergoing a thorough evaluation. The inauguration took place after President Prabowo Subianto issued a Presidential Decree regarding the appointment of new officials within the BGN. The five officials were formally introduced by BGN Deputy Head Agustina Arumsari alongside Trenggono during a press conference at the BGN office in Central Jakarta on Tuesday, 21 July 2026. This structural change coincides with Nanik S Deyang’s decision to resign from her position as Head of BGN to undergo heart disease treatment abroad. Agustina stated that strengthening human resources is a crucial step to ensure the Free Nutritious Meal Programme can be implemented more effectively and accountably. ‘Yesterday afternoon we received the Presidential Decree appointing these high-ranking officials. We need a team to improve BGN and the Free Nutritious Meal Programme,’ Agustina said. The five newly appointed officials fill strategic positions ranging from Primary Secretary to deputies responsible for systems, distribution, promotion, and programme oversight. The new officials are: Lili Khamiliyah as Primary Secretary; Prima Yosephine Berliana Tumiur Hutapea as Deputy for Systems and Governance; Zainuri as Deputy for Provision and Distribution; Mariman Darto as Deputy for Promotion and Cooperation; and Ketut Sumedana as Deputy for Monitoring and Oversight. According to Agustina, the presence of these new officials is expected to accelerate organisational improvements while strengthening oversight of the MBG Programme’s implementation across Indonesia. Ketut Sumedana, the former Head of the Attorney General’s Legal Information Centre, drew particular attention. Agustina assessed that his 28 years of experience as a prosecutor is a crucial asset for reinforcing the supervision system within the National Nutrition Agency. In addition to his extensive background in law enforcement, Ketut also holds a doctorate in legal studies.
