New driver's license in October

JAKARTA (JP): The police, in cooperation with a private company, will introduce new driving licenses in October.

The driving licenses will be launched on Oct. 5 in collaboration with PT Citra Permatasakti Persada.

According to Jimmy Widjaja and Arie Prabowo, senior executives of the firm, the driving license will have the name of the owners printed over a holograph.

"It looks almost like an ordinary credit card," Arie said on Monday.

Both executives said that the price of driving licenses will not be increased.

At present, driving licenses are easily damaged due to the inferior quality adhesive. (bsr)
