JAKARTA - The Chinese car manufacturer DFSK appears to be preparing a new product. Indications of this were evident when one unit of a new car was captured on camera passing through a shopping centre car park.

Although covered in camouflage, the vehicle is suspected to be the DFSK E5 Plus, which incorporates Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) technology. This is apparent from the design of the main headlights and the rear pillar, which resemble those of the seven-passenger PHEV.

When contacted, Cing Hok Rifin, Director of Sales Centre at PT Sokonindo Automobile, did not deny that the company would launch the car. It is reported that the E5 Plus will debut at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026.

Globally, this model is known as the latest generation Landian E5 Plus. Its appearance features a modern design with full-width front headlights and a closed grille typical of electrified vehicles.

The side profile is equipped with multi-spoke alloy wheels and chrome accents around the windows, while the rear uses an elongated light design.

Inside, the cabin is designed with a minimalist look via a flat dashboard. Features include a digital instrument panel, a 15.6-inch central screen, multifunction steering wheel, and electric sunroof.

The infotainment system is also supported by AI-based technology to enhance interaction between the driver and the vehicle.

In terms of dimensions, this SUV measures approximately 4,760 mm in length, 1,865 mm in width, and 1,710 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,785 mm, which is spacious for its class.

For the powertrain, the car relies on a hybrid system combining a 1.5-litre engine with an electric motor. The electric motor delivers around 160 kW, equivalent to 215 hp. Notably, the pure electric range is claimed to reach up to 230 km.
