New Constitutional Court Justice Liliek Priabawono Adi: A Great Trust to Replace Anwar Usman

JAKARTA - Constitutional Court Justice Liliek Priabawono Adi described his appointment as a justice of the Constitutional Court as an honour and a great trust bestowed by the judicial institution.

“It is an honour and a pride for me to be given this mandate by the Chief Justice of the Republic of Indonesia Supreme Court to replace Prof. Dr. Anwar Usman. This is an extraordinary trust for me,” Liliek stated, quoted on Tuesday (14/4/2026).

“As a newcomer, I request support, guidance, and assistance from all parties, especially the honourable Constitutional Court justices,” he added.

Liliek also expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to introduce himself within the Constitutional Court environment.

“For 34 years, I have worked as a judge, assigned from the westernmost to the easternmost parts of Indonesia. Now, I am placed at the Constitutional Court,” he said.

Before serving as a constitutional justice, Liliek began his career in 1992 as a candidate judge at the Karawang District Court. He then served in various regions, including the Fak-Fak District Court, Cibinong, Metro, and Bale Bandung.

His career continued as a court leader in several areas.

In 2024, he served as a High Court Justice at the Medan High Court, and he had previously been assigned to the Supreme Court as a Judicial Justice/Clerk Substitute.

Liliek was officially inaugurated as a constitutional justice on Friday (10/4/2026) at Merdeka Palace.

He took the oath of office in the presence of President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto.
