New Constitutional Court Justice Adies Kadir Admits Feeling More Calm and Healthy
JAKARTA - Constitutional Court Justice Adies Kadir has shared his impressions after officially taking office as a constitutional justice, replacing Arief Hidayat who has entered retirement.
In his statement, Adies assessed that the working atmosphere at the MK offers a different level of tranquility compared to his previous professional experiences.
“So we are not wrong to be here at the MK; we get tranquility in our work,” said Adies Kadir, quoted on Tuesday (14/4/2026).
Adies mentioned that laboratory test results, which usually showed certain notations, are now normal.
“Usually my lab results always have an asterisk. Last week I had a full check-up, all the asterisks are gone. Alhamdulillah, everything is good, meaning normal,” he said.
He considered the minimal work pressure to be one of the main factors making the atmosphere at the MK feel more comfortable.
According to him, the difference in pressure levels is also acknowledged by fellow justices, who view the pressure at the MK as relatively lower compared to previous positions.
“It was conveyed because there is no pressure here. The pressure is only from the front,” said Adies.
“From the various professions I have pursued, being a constitutional justice feels the most calm and comfortable,” he stated.
Nevertheless, he acknowledged that work at the MK still demands responsibility, such as taking case files home to study. However, the work rhythm is considered more regular.
“We still take files home, but we read and study them calmly. Sleep hours are still maintained; there are no more sudden phone calls ordering us to go here or there,” he explained.
“Here we are independent, there are no pressures,” he concluded.
