New Collaboration Drives National Connectivity

Wuhan FiberHome International Technologies Co. Ltd. and PT Solusi Sinergi Digital Tbk (WIFI), known as SURGE, have further strengthened their strategic cooperation through the signing of an extended partnership that broadens the scope of collaboration in telecommunications infrastructure development and the strengthening of the national digital ecosystem. The agreement was signed at the FiberHome booth during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 in Shanghai, China. This moment marks an important step in supporting the acceleration of Indonesia’s digital transformation while expanding equitable access to affordable internet for the public. Through this partnership, both parties are opening up opportunities for the development of a number of strategic initiatives. The collaboration includes the expansion of fixed broadband networks, strengthening the national backbone and optical access, developing Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) services, providing 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) solutions, and implementing various future technologies to support cross-sector connectivity. In its implementation, the cooperation targets the construction of up to 3,000 FWA sites and the provision of up to 1.6 million FWA CPE units. Additionally, the collaboration includes the development of a National Cross-Island Backbone and Metro Access Optical infrastructure encompassing DWDM, MPLS, and OSP. Both companies are also targeting the construction of Full Turnkey FTTH Homepass solutions for up to 300,000 units, the provision of PON network devices such as OLT and ONT, the development of centralised solar power plant projects, and mobile communication systems for next-generation railways. For SURGE, the partnership is part of a continuous effort to realise the vision of building an affordable, inclusive, and sustainable digital foundation for Indonesia. With fibre optic networks continuing to expand in various strategic areas, the company seeks to deliver digital services that are more equitable, fast, and economical for the public.
