It is to be regretted that the government has this year issued
a new coin of Rp 100 denomination. The public hardly knows of the
circulation of this new coin. In fact many people refused to
accept it.

Besides, made out of aluminum and white in color, the coin
cannot be used for coin-operated public telephones. I therefore
appeal to the central bank to take this matter into consideration
and inform the public about the issuance of the new coin so as to
make it as effective as the old coin of the same denomination.
