New Citizenship Service Tariffs to Take Effect Next Month

The government has established new tariffs for a number of citizenship services, which will come into effect in August 2026. The adjustments are stipulated in Government Regulation (PP) No. 30 of 2026 concerning Types and Tariffs of Non-Tax State Revenue applicable at the Ministry of Law.

Under the new regulation, the tariff for naturalisation of a foreign national based on an application has been set at Rp75 million, while naturalisation based on marriage will cost Rp25 million. Previously, these fees were Rp50 million and Rp15 million respectively. The fee for naturalisation of a child from a mixed marriage or a child with dual citizenship who has not yet chosen a nationality is set at Rp5 million.

Significant increases have also been applied to services related to the loss of Indonesian citizenship. The fee for a Decree of Loss of Indonesian Citizenship is now Rp3.5 million, up from Rp500,000. A request for loss of citizenship submitted directly to the President will cost Rp5 million, compared to the previous Rp1 million.

Other revised tariffs include a Rp1 million fee for an application to retain Indonesian citizenship and a Rp500,000 fee for a citizenship status certificate. The regulation also reiterates the legal grounds for losing Indonesian citizenship, as per Law No. 12 of 2006, which include voluntarily acquiring another nationality, serving in a foreign military, or residing abroad for five consecutive years without stating an intention to retain Indonesian citizenship.
