The assault incident involving the Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), Ronald A. Sinaga, alias Bro Ron, has entered a new phase. Now, the alleged perpetrator has filed a counter-report against Bro Ron with the police.

As compiled by detikcom on Wednesday (6/5/2026), Bro Ron experienced the assault in the Menteng area, Central Jakarta, while accompanying several company employees in a mediation regarding wages. The assault on Bro Ron went viral after it was uploaded by the Instagram account of NasDem Party politician, Sahroni.

The assault occurred on Monday (4/5) at 16:22 WIB. Initially, Ronald arrived with 15 employees of PT SKS to hold an audience at the MPP law firm regarding the unpaid wages of the employees.

“Because the audience could not meet with the MPP party who was being demonstrated against, the Menteng Metro Police Sector eventually took the initiative to hold mediation at the Menteng Metro Police Sector office,” explained the Head of Public Relations of the Central Jakarta Metro Police, IPTU Erlyn Sumantri.

She stated that the audience at the law firm location initially proceeded safely and conducively with police accompaniment. However, a group of unidentified individuals then appeared and, without clear reason, carried out intimidation and obstructed the audience process.

“As a result of the actions of that group, the situation heated up and an altercation arose, ultimately leading to the victim receiving punches from that group,” Erlyn explained.

“Then, officers separated the victim and the respondent and secured them to be brought to the Menteng Metro Police Sector for further examination,” she added.

The assault perpetrator, along with one party involved in the brawl, was arrested by the police. They underwent examination at the Menteng Police Sector.

Alleged Perpetrator Files Counter-Report

However, now the alleged assault perpetrator has filed a counter-report against Ronald with the police. The report, in the name of Muhammad Rizal Berhet, is registered under number LP/B/34/V/2026/SPKT at the Menteng Metro Police Sector, dated 4 May 2026.

“It is true that the alleged assault perpetrator has filed a counter-report. The counter-report at the Menteng Police Sector is for assault,” said the Head of Criminal Investigation of the Central Jakarta Metro Police, AKBP Roby Heri Saputra, when contacted on Wednesday (6/5).

Confirmed separately, the reporter named M. Rizal Berhet said he reported Ronald on suspicion of Article 466 of the Criminal Code regarding the crime of assault. Rizal also claimed that Bro Ron directed racist remarks towards him.

“That’s correct, I filed a counter-report against the individual. The report concerns assault and mobbing accompanied by inappropriate insults,” he said.

Rizal claimed that Ronald assaulted him first. In addition, according to Rizal, Ronald allegedly directed racist statements towards him.

“That’s correct (Ronald hit first), he punched my stomach hitting the solar plexus. Yes, correct (the respondent directed racist statements). ’Who the f*** are you, whose slave are you, you maid, basic monkey doll a***,’” said Rizal.

Bro Ron Denies Racism Allegations

Through his personal Instagram account, Ronald denied the racism allegations. He is seen sitting on a hospital bed accompanied by several people, including PT SKS employees and his personal staff from Ambon.

“So I’m defending the oppressed, I have employees, then where does the racism come from?” said Ronald.

Bro Ron’s Explanation

Ronald explained that he came to the audience because the MPP party that the PT SKS employees wanted to meet was his old friend. However, unexpectedly, Ronald became the victim of an assault from the party claiming to be the security of the MPP office.

“They said they were there as office security and asked everyone to leave the building. If you want to protest, do it outside the building. About 10 seconds after they appeared from the stairs, the assault as in the video occurred,” Ronald recounted.
