Forum Komunitas Indonesia Emas (FORMAS) has officially inaugurated its representative office in Beijing, China. This step was taken as an organisational strategy to expand international cooperation networks and reaffirm the commitment to promoting mutual prosperity between Indonesia and China through the investment and economic sectors.

“Firstly, we help connect companies with local partners in Indonesia, including regional governments, industrial actors, and business communities. Secondly, we provide insights into Indonesia’s market conditions, regulatory environment, and business culture, so that companies wishing to enter the Indonesian market can adapt more quickly and effectively,” said FORMAS Chairman Yohanes Handojo Budhisedjati in a statement on Monday, 16 March 2026.

At a business meeting attended by dozens of Chinese companies, FORMAS Business Division representative David Sebastian invited investors to collaborate in developing infrastructure and technology in Indonesia. He emphasised that foreign investment is expected to create extensive employment opportunities for the population.

“FORMAS warmly welcomes this meeting and we invite Chinese investors to invest together in Indonesia. We support investors and technology from China to help create many jobs in Indonesia, to improve the welfare of the people,” said David.

Similar appreciation came from the representative of the Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) in China, Nur Evi Rahmawati. She considered this collaboration highly strategic given Indonesia’s digital economy potential, the largest in Southeast Asia with a market of over 280 million people.

Evi was optimistic that bilateral trade relations between the two countries would set new records in 2026 through the fintech, e-commerce, and digital health sectors.
