New Chapter in Bro Ron Assault Case: Perpetrator Files Counter-Report for Alleged Assault

The assault case against Ronald A. Sinaga, known as Bro Ron and Vice Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), has entered a new phase. One of the alleged perpetrators, MRB, filed a counter-report against Bro Ron at Menteng Police Station on Monday (4/5/2026) for suspected assault under Article 466 of the Criminal Code. MRB claims he suffered verbal and physical violence from Bro Ron at the MPP law firm office in Cikini, Menteng sub-district, Central Jakarta, on Monday. “(He said) ‘Who the f*** are you? You’re just a servant, you’re just a servant, you’re a fing idiot, f you’,” stated MRB when confirmed by Kompas.com via short message on Wednesday (6/5/2026). Additionally, MRB claims he received one punch to the solar plexus from Bro Ron. MRB explained that his presence at the MPP office was because he was asked for help by his relative who felt scared. “There’s a relative who works there. My relative called saying they were afraid because there were many people in their office,” he clarified. MRB admits that the alleged physical and verbal violence he received ignited his emotions. He even responded by questioning why Bro Ron had to hit him. “I said ‘Please just talk, brother, no need to use your hands, what did I do wrong?’ like that. Then he pulled me here again (holding the back of his head),” said MRB on Tuesday (5/5/2026) as reported by Kompas TV. After being separated, MRB went down to the lower floor. However, shortly afterwards, he returned to approach Bro Ron on the upper floor and threw a punch. MRB admits that the punch he delivered to Bro Ron was a retaliation for the physical and verbal violence he received. “We were separated for a moment, I went downstairs because I still couldn’t accept it, I hit him back. That was a retaliatory punch, not that I hit him first out of nowhere,” he explained. “So because he hit me first in the solar plexus, plus he verbally abused me,” stated MRB. He also revealed the involvement of other parties in the incident. “They retaliated against us again, they hit my younger sibling with a chair,” he disclosed.
