New Chapter in Bogor Domestic Worker Abuse Case: Employer Summoned Over Assault Triggered by Turning Off Stove

The case of an employer assaulting a domestic worker in Bogor, West Java, has entered a new phase, with police summoning the employer for questioning.

As compiled on Saturday (22/2/2026), the assault occurred on 22 January 2026. The case was reported by the victim, identified by the initials FH (21).

The incident went viral on social media, showing images of the victim's injuries. Police subsequently named the employer, OAP, as a suspect.

On Monday (23/2), police plan to examine OAP in her capacity as a suspect.

**Employer Named as Suspect**

The Head of the Women and Children Protection and Anti-Trafficking Unit (PPA/PPO) at Bogor Police, Inspector Silfi Adi Putri, said her team had formally designated OAP as a suspect.

"Today, 19 February 2026, we as investigators of the PPA-PPO Unit at Bogor Police have conducted a case review to elevate the status of the reported party to that of a suspect," said Silfi.

Silfi said that the perpetrator OAP has not yet been detained. OAP will be summoned and questioned under her new status as a suspect.

"The perpetrator committed physical violence against the complainant or victim, who is a domestic worker at the perpetrator's residence, by means including kicking, pinching and striking," said Silfi.

**Employer to Be Questioned on Monday**

Police are continuing their investigation into the assault committed by employer OAP (37) against domestic worker FH (21) in Gunungputri, Bogor. Police have summoned the suspect for Monday, 23 February.

"The suspect summons is for Monday," said Inspector Silfi Adi Putri on Saturday (21/2).

Silfi said the summons letter had already been issued. The suspect is expected to appear at 10:00 AM Western Indonesian Time.

**Assault Triggered by Turning Off a Stove**

Previously, employer OAP (37) was reported to Bogor Police for allegedly assaulting domestic worker FH (21) in Gunungputri, Bogor Regency. OAP reportedly assaulted the victim because she turned off the stove while OAP was cooking.

"Based on the victim's testimony, it was over a cooking matter. The perpetrator was cooking in the kitchen when the victim accidentally turned off the stove, which caused the perpetrator to become angry and commit violence against the victim. That is based on the victim's account," said Silfi Adi Putri on Thursday (19/2).

**Victim Sustained Injuries to Head and Back**

Silfi said the perpetrator OAP assaulted the victim by kicking and striking her. As a result, the victim sustained injuries to her head, hands and back.

"The perpetrator committed physical violence against the complainant or victim, who is a domestic worker at the perpetrator's residence, by means including kicking, pinching and striking," said Silfi.
