New Central Java Police Chief: Firm Against Crime, Humanistic Towards Vulnerable Groups
The new Central Java Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Roy Hardi Siahaan, has stated that he has three main focuses in undertaking his duties. In addition to being firm against perpetrators of crime, he promised to adopt a humanistic approach towards vulnerable groups.
“We must act firmly against criminal acts that cause significant public unrest. Furthermore, we must be humanistic towards the vulnerable, women, people with disabilities, and those considered the weak. We must also move swiftly in response to all reports or complaints where the community is in urgent need of assistance,” said Roy while attending the Handover Ceremony of the Pataka Maneka Tunggi Dharma at the Central Java Regional Police Headquarters in Semarang on Tuesday (6/10/2026).
He noted that the execution of these duties requires the support of all elements of society. Roy also requested to be accepted as both a resident and the new Chief of Central Java Police.
“I ask to be accepted in Central Java as a resident of Central Java and also as the Chief of Central Java Police,” he stated.
On this occasion, Roy expressed his appreciation for the dedication and service of the previous Central Java Police Chief, Inspector General Ribut Hari Wibowo. He stated that various policies, achievements, innovations, and positive values established by his predecessor would be continued and developed.
“This Pataka is not merely a ceremonial symbol. It contains the history of struggle, the values of service of our predecessors, the honour of the institution, and a mandate that we must be accountable for to the public,” said Roy.
