New BGN Chief Sudaryono Vows Collaborative Approach, Cannot Work Alone

Kepala Badan Gizi Nasional (BGN) Sudaryono has pledged to prioritise collaboration and remain open to input from the public and stakeholders. He made the statement following his inauguration by President Prabowo Subianto as the new head of BGN, replacing Nanik Sudaryati Deyang. Sudaryono said the implementation of the free nutritious meal project, which falls under the BGN’s responsibility, cannot be completed by one person alone and requires the involvement of various parties. “We are not Superman. It is certainly impossible for me to solve this problem or programme alone. Together with the entire team, both active members and all stakeholders, we want to listen more and receive more input from all parties,” Sudaryono said at the State Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday, 22 July 2026, as quoted from a press release by the Government Communication Agency (Bakom) RI. He emphasised that the agency under his leadership would open the widest possible space for the public to convey criticism, suggestions, or ideas that could strengthen the implementation of nutrition programmes. He said every piece of input would serve as evaluation material in the decision-making process. “If something odd is found, or there are new ideas, we are ready to receive input and make it a consideration in making decisions,” he said. The former Deputy Minister of Agriculture affirmed his commitment to carrying out his duties as BGN head professionally. “Rest assured, at this moment I am committed to working as well and as cleanly as possible,” Sudaryono said. President Prabowo officially inaugurated Sudaryono as the new Head of BGN, replacing Nanik Sudaryati Deyang who had only served in the role for 45 days. The inauguration took place at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday, 22 July 2026, based on Presidential Decree Number 78/P/2026 concerning the Dismissal and Appointment of the Head of BGN.
