The new Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) paid a visit to the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) of the Republic of Indonesia to foster relations and request legal assistance and oversight for the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme. “As a new official, there are certainly many matters that need to be communicated going forward in the context of cooperation in the civil and state administrative fields,” said the BGN Deputy for Monitoring and Supervision, Ketut Sumedana, to reporters at the Kejagung in Jakarta on Tuesday.

He stated that the BGN Head requested future legal assistance, legal audits, and field supervision involving personnel from district and high prosecutor’s offices. Sumedana noted that the investigation into MBG governance cases serves as material for improvement and evaluation for the BGN. He also said the new BGN leadership is committed to improving the programme to maximise public service.

The Attorney General’s Office, through its Head of Public Information, Anang Supriatna, expressed full support for the improvement measures desired by the BGN. He added that during the meeting, Attorney General ST Burhanuddin emphasised that the corruption incident in MBG governance must not be repeated. The Attorney General’s Office is ready to assist with personnel if needed for the improvement of the programme’s administration.
