New Batam market inaugurated

BATAM, Riau: Sei Jodoh market in downtown Batam was
inaugurated on Thursday by Batam Mayor Nyat Kadir.

The first part of the building has been completed and can
house at least 700 traders, while the second part is almost
finished and will be able to house 900 traders.

The construction of the Rp 94 billion (US$ 10.4 million)
market is being financed by the city administration, the Batam
Industrial Development Authority and the central government. Its
kiosks are expected to be rented by street vendors and local
