The Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov DKI Jakarta), through the Population and Civil Registration Office (Disdukcapil), has recorded 2,542 new arrivals entering the capital following the Eid al-Fitr homecoming flow in 2026.

Head of Disdukcapil DKI Jakarta, Denny Wahyu Haryanto, stated that the figure was compiled from Wednesday (25/3/2026) to Monday (6/4/2026).

“The total number of new arrivals post-Eid, starting from 25 to 6 April 2026, amounts to 2,542,” said Denny in his statement on Tuesday (7/4/2026).

West Java is the largest contributor with 37.65 percent.

This is followed by Central Java at 21.36 percent, Banten at 13.43 percent, North Sumatra at 8.01 percent, and East Java at 6.96 percent.

Meanwhile, based on the cities of origin, the most arrivals come from Bogor at 5.39 percent, followed by Bekasi at 5.35 percent, Depok at 4.08 percent, and Tangerang City at 3.25 percent.

The main reason for moving to Jakarta is family factors, accounting for 35.33 percent.

This is followed by other reasons at 27.97 percent, housing at 16.73 percent, employment at 16.49 percent, and education at 3.04 percent.

Nevertheless, he emphasised that the data is still provisional.

Disdukcapil is still awaiting the recapitulation of population administration services running until 25 April 2026.

“For this year, we are still waiting for the Adminduk service data from 25 March to 25 April 2026,” said Denny.

To accelerate data collection, Disdukcapil will take a proactive approach by collaborating with city/district governments, sub-districts, and villages.

This activity involves outreach and guidance on population administration at the neighbourhood level (RW), scheduled from 1 to 20 April 2026.

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government urges new arrivals to report promptly so that population data remains accurate and public services can operate optimally.

“This is not a law enforcement operation, but guidance to ensure that arrivals comply with administration and are officially recorded,” said Denny.
