New Arrivals in Jakarta Reach 1,700, Dominated by Men

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Population and Civil Registration Service (Dukcapil) of DKI Jakarta Province recorded 1,776 new arrivals entering Jakarta as of 1 April 2026, dominated by men. “With a composition of 891 men (50.17 percent) and 885 women (49.83 percent),” said the Head of the Dukcapil Service of DKI Jakarta Province, Denny Wahyu Haryanto, in a statement in Jakarta on Thursday. The majority of arrivals are in the productive age group of 15-64 years, accounting for 79.34 percent, indicating the dominance of working-age population in the urbanisation flow post-Eid 2026. Denny stated that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) continues to conduct outreach and door-to-door services for registering new arrivals after Eid 2026 from 1 April to 30 April 2026 across all Administrative Cities and the Thousand Islands Administrative Regency in DKI Jakarta Province. This is to ensure orderly population administration in the Jakarta region. Pemprov DKI emphasises that migrant residents, whether permanent or non-permanent, are still required to be recorded in the population administration. Clarity of this status is important to guarantee data accuracy and serve as a basis for formulating social, economic, and public service policies. “Good population management starts from accurate data. Therefore, registering arrivals becomes the main instrument in maintaining balance between urbanisation dynamics and the city’s service capacity,” said Denny. Every arrival staying in the DKI Jakarta area, whether temporarily or permanently, is required to report their arrival to the RT/RW administrators no later than 1x24 hours since arriving in Jakarta, as stipulated in the Circular Letter of the Regional Secretary number SE/14/2026 on Appeals to Maintain Security, Tranquillity, and Public Order during the Eid al-Fitr 1447 H/2026 M Holiday. Dukcapil has prepared a resident data application on the website https://datawarga-dukcapil.jakarta.go.id/, which can be accessed by RT/RW administrators to register arrivals in their areas.
