New Army chief for Kalimantan

BALIKPAPAN, East Kalimantan: Army Chief of Staff Gen. R.
Hartono on Tuesday installed Maj. Gen. Namuri Anoem as the new
chief of the Tanjungpura Military Command to replace Maj. Gen.
Jacob Dasto.

The command oversees security in all Kalimantan provinces,
including the common border between Indonesia and Malaysia.

Namuri, a 1965 graduate of the National Military Academy, was
previously the command's chief of staff.

Maj. Gen. Jacob Dasto meanwhile will be assigned as
Indonesia's ambassador to Malaysia, Antara reported. (emb)
