New appointments in Air Force and Navy
JAKARTA (JP): Air Force Chief of Staff Marshall Rilo Pambudi inducted Commodore I.G. Sudana as Air Force Operation Commander, replacing Rear Marshall Subagiyo, and Rear Marshall Marsabdo as Inspector General, in place of Rear Marshall Andaya Lestari, yesterday.
The two new officials were sworn in during separate ceremonies at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base and the Air Force Headquarters respectively.
Subagiyo, a senior pilot of war planes, will be assigned to the board of directors of privately owned PT Mandala Airlines.
Also yesterday, the Navy announced plans for a major reshuffle in its leadership through its spokesman Lt. Col. Eddy Irawan.
Brig. Gen. Djoko Pramono will be inducted as chief of the Marine Corps in place of Maj. Gen. Gafur Chalik at a ceremony at the corps' headquarters in Cilandak, South Jakarta, on Monday.
The following Saturday, Commodore Arief Kurhariadi will be sworn in as commander of the Western Fleet in place of Rear Admiral Soeratmin and Commodore Gofar Suwarno as Eastern Fleet commander to replace Rear Admiral Sochid.
Soeratmin will occupy his new position as assistant to Navy deputy chief on planning and budget affairs, while Sochid will be inducted as Navy deputy chief of personnel affairs.
Gafur will be appointed as Navy inspector general to replace Marine Corps Maj. Gen. Hartarto Raden. (rms)
