JAKARTA - Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) Nevi Zuairina has reminded the Ministry of Investment and the Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) that investments must have a positive impact on the local economy.

During a working visit to the Ministry of Investment/BKPM on Tuesday (4/6/2024), Nevi stressed the importance of disseminating national policies on 2024 capital investment to regions and local governments. “Investments entering Indonesia, especially in the new capital city (IKN), must be ensured to have a positive impact on the local economy,” said the legislator from West Sumatra.

Nevi also reviewed the realization of investments in 2023, which reached Rp1,414.4 trillion, exceeding the target of Rp1,200 trillion. However, she noted that the distribution needs to be more equitable to support local economic growth.

The Ministry of Investment/BKPM assured that they are committed to facilitating investments that benefit local communities, including through regulatory simplification and coordination with regional governments.
