NeutraDC and PLN Collaborate to Power 200 MW Hyperscale Data Centre Expansion in Cikarang
PT Telkom Data Ekosistem (NeutraDC), a data centre company under PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, has partnered with PT PLN (Persero) to prepare energy supply for the development of a hyperscale data centre in Cikarang, West Java.
The collaboration was marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding by NeutraDC Group President Director Rakhmad Tunggal Afifuddin, General Manager of PLN UID West Java Muhammad Joharifin, and President Director of PT PLN Electricity Services Susiana Mutia. The signing was witnessed by PLN Director of Retail and Commerce M. Fahrur Rozy in Bandung on Tuesday, 11 August 2026.
Through the partnership, NeutraDC is preparing a phased expansion of data centre capacity in Cikarang of up to 200 megawatts (MW). The development is intended to anticipate rising computing needs driven by the growth of artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing and digital services.
For NeutraDC, the collaboration with PLN is expected to support the realisation of the data centre expansion while strengthening the company’s position as a Digital Ecosystem Hub ready to serve AI needs. NeutraDC Group President Director Rakhmad Tunggal Afifuddin said the capacity expansion is part of NeutraDC’s long-term strategy to strengthen Indonesia’s digital infrastructure capacity.
According to him, demand for digital infrastructure continues to grow alongside the widening use of AI, cloud computing and various data-based services. This is driving the need for data centres that not only have large capacity but are also able to provide reliable services that can be scaled according to customer growth.
“For us at NeutraDC, this expansion is not merely about adding data centre capacity. We are preparing the infrastructure Indonesia needs to grow in the AI era. Therefore, energy readiness is a very important part of our expansion strategy,” Rakhmad said on 11 August 2026.
Through the collaboration with PLN, NeutraDC will receive support for energy readiness to back the expansion of data centre infrastructure, particularly in Cikarang, with additional capacity planned to reach up to 200 MW.
According to Rakhmad, large-scale digital infrastructure development requires cross-sector collaboration. Data centres cannot stand alone because they require support from energy, connectivity, technology and a strong industrial ecosystem.
“Digital transformation cannot stand alone. When we expand data centre capacity, we also need to ensure the entire supporting ecosystem is ready. Collaboration with PLN is part of our efforts to ensure this expansion can proceed in a measured and sustainable manner,” Rakhmad said.
Furthermore, NeutraDC’s expansion in Cikarang is expected to have a broader impact on the growth of Indonesia’s digital economy. Increased data centre infrastructure capacity will open space for more companies, cloud providers, technology players and AI ecosystem participants to develop services and increase their computing capacity in Indonesia. This also strengthens Indonesia’s opportunity to become an important part of digital economy growth and the AI ecosystem in the region.
