Netizens Complain About Power Outages in Several Jakarta Areas, PLN Responds

JAKARTA — Netizens on social media platform Threads have been voicing complaints about power outages occurring in several areas of Jakarta on Thursday (23/4/2026). Some of the affected locations include Jalan Raya Sultan Agung in Setiabudi, South Jakarta, as well as the Cipinang area in East Jakarta. Meanwhile, the Instagram account @jalur5 also reported a power outage at Halte CSW in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta. The blackout was reported to have caused a build-up of passengers at the stop. In response to the situation, Haris Andika, Senior Manager of Communication and Public Affairs at PLN UID Jakarta Raya, stated that a disruption in electricity supply is currently affecting several areas in Jakarta. “PLN is focusing on efforts to normalise the situation,” Haris said in a holding statement confirmed to Kompas.com on Thursday. Haris added that updates on the electricity service conditions can be obtained through the PLN Mobile app and the PLN Contact Center at 123.
