Jakarta — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was reportedly fleeing to Germany as his country engages in a renewed exchange of strikes with Iran since last Saturday. The claim has circulated on social media for several days.

The flight’s existence is based on data from the flight-tracking service Flightradar24 for the Israeli government’s aircraft. In several posts, he is accused of fleeing Israel after a joint strike with the United States against Iran.

One post, cited by Euro News, even claimed Netanyahu was in a bunker ‘somewhere in Germany.’

Reuters reported that the Israeli government’s official aircraft, known as the Wing of Zion, circled over the Mediterranean Sea on Saturday afternoon. It was later said to have flown to Germany that night, according to reports on Wednesday (4 March 2026).

A government source cited by Reuters said the flight had been registered earlier by the Israeli government. However, Netanyahu was not on board, only the crew.

A spokesperson for the German Foreign Ministry confirmed the aircraft had been parked at a local airport. The Israeli government itself queried whether it was permitted to park the plane in Berlin.

The spokesperson also said only the initial crew and pilot were on the flight to Germany.

The same report said the flight and parking at Berlin Airport were for security reasons.

Other evidence suggested Netanyahu was in Tel Aviv. Euro News quoted a post showing him at Kirya to attend a security meeting with the IDF Chief of Staff and the Mossad Director, a day after the government aircraft landed in Germany.

His office also released a photo of Netanyahu on top of a building in Kirya. He was also seen in another video at the Iranian missile attack in Beit Shemesh, confirmed by several Israeli media outlets.
