Netanyahu's Provocative Message to Iran Following the Deaths of Ali Larijani and Gholamreza Soleimani
Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu released a provocative video message directed directly at the Iranian people. In the video, Netanyahu appeared alongside Israel’s highest-ranking military command, only hours after Tehran confirmed the deaths of two important security officials.
“I am here with the Israeli Defence Minister, our chief of staff, the head of Mossad, the commander of the Air Force, and our senior commanders,” Netanyahu began his message.
Netanyahu’s statement came after Iranian authorities acknowledged the deaths of the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, and Basij militia leader Gholamreza Soleimani. Both were killed in an Israeli military operation launched the previous night.
Netanyahu explicitly claimed Israeli military success in neutralising what he described as the leadership structure of “tyranny”.
“In the last 24 hours, we have eliminated two terrorist leaders, a principal terrorist leader from this tyranny,” Netanyahu said.
He also confirmed that Israeli military operations continue intensively at various strategic points. “Our aircraft strike terror operatives in the field, at intersections, and in city squares,” he added.
Notably, Netanyahu concluded his video with remarks regarding the Persian New Year celebration, Nowruz, which falls on the coming Friday. This message was viewed as an attempt both to provoke and to appeal to the Iranian people who oppose the current regime.
“This is so the brave people of Iran can celebrate the Festival of Fire. So celebrate it and Happy Nowruz. We are watching from above,” Netanyahu concluded.
Netanyahu’s display of military strength alongside senior intelligence and air force officials reinforces Israel’s position in the escalating Middle Eastern conflict. To date, Tehran remains mourning the deaths of Larijani and Soleimani, which represent a significant blow to their national security apparatus.
