The Iranian military has warned that the war in the Middle East will expand if the United States chooses to continue its attacks. The warning was issued ahead of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to the US.

“I believe that if America is once again deceived by Zionist tricks, or moves in line with them, and insists on continuing the war, especially through airstrikes, it will expand geographically much further,” military spokesman Mohammad Akraminia told state television, as reported by AFP on Sunday (26/7/2026).

He noted that the war has already spread to the Bab al-Mandab Strait at the entrance to the Red Sea, referencing the recent escalation in military tensions between Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen and Saudi Arabia.

“The scope of our operations now covers the entire region, from US bases in Jordan to countries along the Persian Gulf,” he said.

Akraminia described the situation in the Middle East for the United States as “difficult and uncertain,” predicting that Washington is now seeking a “new strategy.”

“We are ready for every option and scenario that seems possible,” he added.

On Friday, Israel announced that Netanyahu would meet US President Donald Trump at the White House on Tuesday.
