Netanyahu Says He Will Complete ‘Task’ with Trump if Re-elected — What Does It Mean?

US President Donald Trump has voiced his support for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and said he expects him to win a decisive election victory.

According to AFP on Tuesday (20 October 2026), Netanyahu hinted that the two leaders might launch another joint attack on Iran. After receiving Trump’s backing, Netanyahu released a video showing the pair exchanging praise during a telephone call.

“I think you’re going to have a tremendous victory,” Trump said.

“You’re the man I want to have by my side, Bibi,” Trump said, using Netanyahu’s nickname.

Netanyahu reminded the famously outspoken president that their call could be heard publicly. He praised Trump for joining Israel in attacking Iran, a long-standing goal of Israel’s longest-serving prime minister.

“Donald, we have a task to complete,” Netanyahu said.

“We’ll complete it together. We’ll do it, and no one else will,” he added.

Netanyahu did not elaborate, but again described Iran—which has remained in power almost eight months after the major joint attacks—as the “greatest danger”.
