Netanyahu Repeatedly Lobbied Bush, Obama, and Biden to Attack Iran; Only Trump Agreed

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, WASHINGTON — Former US Secretary of State John Kerry has revealed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has repeatedly urged US administrations to launch a military attack on Iran. However, only President Donald Trump has fulfilled Netanyahu’s wishes.

Kerry disclosed that he was involved in several discussions with Netanyahu. “He (Netanyahu) wanted us to attack,” Kerry said during an interview on The Briefing with Jen Psaki on Friday (10/4/2026), as quoted by the Middle East Monitor website.

According to Kerry, Netanyahu conveyed his desire to start a war with Iran to several US presidents. “President Obama refused. President Joe Biden refused. President George W. Bush refused,” he stated. “The only president who agreed to this, clearly, is President Trump,” Kerry added.

Kerry explained that in his lobbying efforts for the US to attack Iran, Netanyahu included several points of argument. According to Netanyahu, an attack on Iran could eliminate a series of Iranian leaders, destroy the military, and lead to regime change.

According to Kerry, the proposal drafted by Netanyahu did indeed appear to be a good report. Kerry indicated that Netanyahu presented his arguments in meetings involving senior officials, where various viewpoints were considered.
