Net Buy Reaches Nearly Rp1 Trillion in Session 1, BBRI Becomes Foreign Favourite

Foreign investors returned to hunt for Indonesian stocks during the first trading session on Tuesday (1/9/2026). Net foreign buying was recorded at a massive level, reaching almost Rp1 trillion.

Based on Stockbit Sekuritas data up to the close of session 1, foreign investors recorded buy transactions worth Rp2.99 trillion and sell transactions of Rp2.02 trillion. Consequently, foreign investors booked a net buy of Rp972.64 billion across the entire market.

The heavy influx of foreign funds also supported the movement of the Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG), which strengthened by 0.60% in session 1.

The banking sector was one of the sectors most targeted by foreign investors. PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) became the stock with the largest foreign net buy, reaching Rp405.96 billion.

In addition to BBRI, two other major banking stocks were among the top stocks purchased by foreigners. PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) recorded a net buy of Rp160.20 billion, while PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI) recorded Rp124.64 billion.

Combined, the foreign net buying in these three banking stocks reached approximately Rp690.8 billion, representing more than 70% of the total foreign net buy during session 1.

  • PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia Tbk (CPIN) - Rp57.05 billion

  • PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SMGR) - Rp39.97 billion

  • PT Timah (Persero) Tbk (TINS) - Rp39.86 billion

  • PT ESSA Industries Indonesia Tbk (ESSA) - Rp30.77 billion

  • PT Petrindo Jaya Kreasi Tbk (CUAN) - Rp28.44 billion

On the other hand, several stocks were targets of foreign selling with limited values. PT Kota Satu Properti Tbk (KOTA) recorded the largest net sell of Rp99.18 billion, followed by PT Merdeka Gold Resources Tbk (EMAS) at Rp53.91 billion and PT Indosat Tbk (ISAT) at Rp45.06 billion.

Meanwhile, the IHSG continued its strengthening in the first trading session on Tuesday (1/9/2026). The IHSG closed up 39.03 points or 0.60% to the level of 6,564.51.

The IHSG’s strength was supported by the majority of stock sectors. The financial sector was one of the main drivers with an increase of 1.36%, followed by the energy sector which rose by 1.16% and non-primary consumer goods by 1.03%.
