After the evidence was deemed sufficient, the suspect was arrested on Monday, 2 March 2026, at around 14:00 WIB, and has been detained at the Bogor Police detention facility, said AKP Silfi Adi Putri, Head of the PPA-PPO unit, Bogor Police, on Thursday (5 March 2026).

The incident occurred in December 2024. The victim, who has an intellectual disability, has since received accompaniment from investigators.

‘Investigators also secured the visum et repertum (VER) as part of the evidence,’ she added.

Police subsequently named the suspect as a suspect after the examination. As a result of his actions, the suspect faces up to 12 years in prison.

‘The suspect is charged under Article 473 paragraph 2 letter d and/or Article 415 letter a of Law Number 1 Year 2023 on the Criminal Code with a maximum penalty of 12 years in prison,’ she said.

Earlier, a video recording with narration that a disabled woman was allegedly subjected to sexual violence by her neighbour in Citeureup, Bogor, West Java, went viral on social media. Bogor Police ensured the case was being handled.

‘There is indeed a report. It is already under handling,’ Silfi said when contacted on Monday (2/3).

Silfi said the investigation into the case of sexual violence experienced by the disabled woman was still ongoing and had entered the investigation stage. The perpetrator, who is the victim’s neighbour, would be named a suspect in a case conference scheduled in the near future.

‘(Case handling) is at the investigation stage; only the designation of the suspect remains to be announced,’ Silfi said.

In the viral video recording, a woman claims that her sister-in-law recounts the moment the perpetrator was caught inside the victim’s room. The perpetrator, referred to as the neighbour, was seen hiding behind the victim’s room door.
