Neighbour Sexually Abuses Toddler in Bekasi While Parents Were at Work

A girl aged one year and nine months was allegedly sexually assaulted by a neighbour identified as R alias G (48) while the child was in his care at a rented house in Bekasi Barat district, Bekasi City, in December 2025. The victim’s mother, FS (35), said the child initially complained of pain in her genital area. Every time she bathed, A cried out in pain. At first FS thought the complaint was due to the diaper size being too small. But even after replacing with a larger size, the child continued to whimper in pain. ‘My child complains of pain in her genital area. I immediately took her to the community health centre; the nurse said the opening was abnormal; try an immediate medical examination. But report to the police first,’ FS told Kompas.com at her home on Wednesday 4 March 2026. On the same day, FS reported the incident to Bekasi Barat Police for further investigation. She was then escorted to Metro Bekasi City Police and her child underwent a medical examination. ‘The visum results were positive that my child was indeed sexually assaulted. A blunt object entered her genital opening,’ FS said. FS explained that at the end of December 2025 she had entrusted her child to the alleged perpetrator as she had to work as a roaming singer, while her husband was not at home. However, after the incident, when she met the alleged perpetrator, A showed fear and tried to avoid him. FS believes R is the suspected perpetrator because she had only entrusted the child to him all this time. ‘Because he was the one who kept her most of the time. And my child stayed there for three days,’ she said. Although a report has been filed, FS said the suspect has not yet been informed that she has reported to the police.
