Neighbor accused of molesting girl

JAKARTA (JP): An East Jakarta housewife has filed a police
report accusing her neighbor of sodomizing her six-year-old
daughter, a close friend of the woman's family said.

According to Basuki, the Utan Kayu woman became aware of the
molestation after her daughter complained of soreness on Friday
morning.

Speaking to reporters while accompanying the parents as the
child underwent a checkup at Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital,
Basuki quoted the victim's family as saying that the abuse took
place at the suspect's house on Thursday evening.

The suspect, a middle-aged married man, lives in a house
behind the family's residence.

No details about the child's injuries were available.

Basuki alleged the assault took place when the girl's father
was working the night shift as a security guard in Menteng,
Central Jakarta. (01)
