TOKYO (AFP): The Australian unit of Japan's NEC Corp. said yesterday it had won a A$43 million (US$34.3 million) turnkey project to provide radio communications to remote areas of Indonesia.
NEC Australia Ltd. said in a statement received here that the project would link villages in Kalimantan and rural villages on Java.
It said the two-year project was part of a 107 million dollar contract awarded by the Indonesian government to NEC Australia and Dutch group Philips ahead of American and French competition.
