Nearly Two-Hour Discussion as Global Investors Express Interest in Partnering with Indonesia
Jakarta — President Prabowo Subianto received 12 heads of global investment firms as part of his working visit to Washington DC, United States, on Friday (20/2/2026).
The investors comprised CEOs and presidents of the world’s leading investment companies, with combined assets under management totalling approximately USD 15 trillion.
Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM and CEO of Danantara Indonesia, Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, said the meeting, originally scheduled for one hour, lasted nearly two hours owing to the constructive nature of the discussions. “The discussion was quite lengthy, approximately two hours, from what was initially expected to be one hour because the discussion was very fruitful and very productive,” Rosan said in a press statement following the meeting.
During the occasion, President Prabowo outlined the direction of national economic policy, the strengthening of the investment climate, and the government’s commitment to maintaining stability and legal certainty. After the main session, dialogue continued through one-on-one meetings with each company head to discuss further cooperation potential.
Rosan explained that the presence of Danantara Indonesia received a positive response from global investors. They viewed Danantara as having the potential to become a strategic local partner in various investment schemes, both domestically and globally. “They also see potential as a local partner of Danantara, and that provides comfort and confidence, because we can invest together not only in Indonesia but also outside Indonesia,” he explained.
During the meeting, President Prabowo also affirmed that Indonesia no longer wishes to be known as a sleeping giant. According to him, Indonesia is ready to rise, move forward, and maximise all national economic potential together with global partners.
The meeting underscored the government’s commitment to strengthening economic diplomacy whilst opening opportunities for strategic collaboration with global investors.
