Nearly 500 New Migrants in West Jakarta After Eid
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The number of new migrants in West Jakarta after this year’s Eid has reached 486 people so far. “Of that number, there are 241 men and 245 women. The data has already been entered into the population database,” said the Head of the West Jakarta Population and Civil Registration Service (Sudin Dukcapil), Gentina Arifin, when met in Jakarta on Monday. She explained that the figure represents preliminary data that has been recorded in the population database. Gentina added that, in addition to conducting the registration, her office is also opening various population administration services for the public. These services, she said, include recording initial ID cards up to updating Family Cards (KK). “For new migrants, we directly process address changes to make them DKI Jakarta residents. We also serve initial ID card recording and Family Card updates for residents who need them,” she stated. Meanwhile, this new migrant registration activity will run until 20 April 2026 and will be carried out in stages throughout West Jakarta. “We started the registration today until 20 April. Subsequently, the activity will also be implemented in other areas, including Palmerah Ward,” she said. Furthermore, Gentina urged all wards and sub-districts in West Jakarta to actively participate in registering new migrants during that period. “Between 16 and 20 April, we hope all sub-districts will also carry out new migrant registration services,” she said.
