Nearly 40,000 Vehicles Pass Through Bogor’s Puncak in 24 Hours During Long Weekend

Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps Chief Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho inspected the Gadog Post in Bogor Regency, West Java. He reported that nearly 40,000 vehicles passed through Puncak within a 24-hour period based on officer monitoring.

“With the Police Chief’s approval, we are on-site. We have been monitoring the toll roads since last Wednesday, and today we are in West Java, specifically at Gadog,” said Inspector General Agus in Bogor on Monday, 1 June 2026.

“According to the Traffic Police Chief, congestion occurred from Saturday to Sunday, peaking on both days, with nearly 40,000 vehicles passing through in the past 24 hours,” he added.

He stated that traffic is well-managed, with a one-way system implemented from Puncak towards Jakarta earlier today.

The Traffic Corps Chief said traffic during the long weekend holiday is under control, with officers deployed to ensure smooth and safe flow.

“All systems, including Trans-Java, Cipularang route, and Trans-Sumatra, are under control, with traffic officers nationwide actively monitoring the situation,” he said.

He also reminded drivers to exercise caution on toll roads, take regular breaks to stay alert, and for heavy vehicles to use the left lane.

“During last week’s national coordination meeting, I reiterated that the use of rotating lights and sirens is permitted on toll roads for patrols, enabling Highway Patrol and traffic police to advise vehicles during peak hours,” he added.

So far, no significant accidents have been reported. He expressed appreciation for officers, particularly those on duty at Gadog Junction today.

“We have traffic counts in place; the Traffic Police Chief explained that when traffic reaches certain levels, we implement diversions, contraflow measures, and one-way systems,” he concluded.
