Jakarta – Rivan A. Purwantono, Managing Director of PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk, reported that 990,506 vehicles left the Greater Jakarta area between 10 and 5 days before the Eid al-Fitr holiday 1447H/2026 (11-16 March 2026).

“This figure represents cumulative traffic volume from four main toll gates: Cikampek Utama toll gate (Trans Java direction), Kalihurip Utama toll gate (Bandung direction), Cikupa toll gate (Merak direction), and Ciawi toll gate (Puncak direction),” Rivan stated in a written statement on Tuesday (17 March 2026).

He noted that total traffic volume leaving the Greater Jakarta area increased 13.6 per cent compared with normal traffic of 871,629 vehicles.

Traffic departing the Greater Jakarta area continued to show increases approaching the 2026 Eid holiday, with significant surges recorded across several major directions.

For the eastern route towards Trans Java and Bandung, vehicle volumes experienced considerable increases. Through the Cikampek Utama toll gate on the Jakarta–Cikampek tollway, 290,799 vehicles were recorded heading towards Trans Java, a 69.0 per cent increase compared with normal conditions. Meanwhile, vehicles heading towards Bandung through the Kalihurip Utama toll gate on the Cipularang tollway totalled 189,100 units, slightly lower by 2.0 per cent from normal traffic.

Overall, total vehicles heading towards Trans Java and Bandung through both toll gates reached 479,899 units, representing a 31.5 per cent increase compared with normal conditions.

In the western direction, traffic towards Merak through the Cikupa toll gate on the Tangerang–Merak tollway recorded 303,113 vehicles, a 4.5 per cent increase from normal conditions. For the southern direction towards the Puncak region, vehicles passing through the Ciawi toll gate on the Jagorawi tollway totalled 207,494 units, a 4.2 per cent decrease from normal traffic.

Rivan explained that increases in vehicle volume became more pronounced five days before Eid. On Monday, 16 March 2026, traffic volume leaving Greater Jakarta through the four main toll gates reached 178,164 vehicles, a 36.4 per cent increase compared with normal traffic of 130,641 vehicles.

“Public movements leaving the Greater Jakarta area continue to increase as the Eid al-Fitr holiday approaches,” Rivan stated.

Jasa Marga projects traffic volume at the four main toll gates during the anticipated peak on Wednesday, 18 March 2026, to reach 259,000 vehicles, representing a 90.5 per cent increase from normal traffic levels.
