Near-Final Hyundai Ioniq V Spotted in China
The future Hyundai product, the Ioniq V, has been seen in a form that is almost ready for production in China, revealing a 4.9-metre fastback electric sedan that combines frameless doors, a low aerodynamic profile, and cyber-style lighting design.
According to reports from Carnewschina, the latest real-world sighting indicates that the Hyundai Iojniq V closely follows the design originally unveiled at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show and documented in regulatory filings, with exterior details of the production version already visible on the test vehicle.
Exterior Design
The Hyundai Ioniq V measures 4,900 mm in length, 1,890 mm in width, and 1,470 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,900 mm, placing it in the mid-size electric sedan segment. The vehicle features a fastback roofline, frameless doors, semi-concealed door handles, and a body with sharp contours. At the rear, a full-width light bar is integrated with a diffuser-style lower bumper design.
Inside the cabin, the Hyundai Ioniq V is equipped with an integrated 27-inch dual-screen layout with 4K resolution, paired with a head-up display. The cockpit utilises the Snapdragon 8295 chip for the infotainment system, voice interaction, and various vehicle functions.
The car is equipped with an L2+ driving assistance system developed by Momenta, which supports highway navigation assistance, NOA (Navigation on Autopilot) functions in urban areas, and automatic parking features. The cabin also features ambient lighting spread across the dashboard and door panels.
Powertrain
The Hyundai Ioniq V supports both BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) and EREV (Extended Range Electric Vehicle) configurations. Available power options include two motor setups with outputs of 140 kW (190 hp) and 168 kW (228 hp) respectively.
Market Conditions
Hyundai’s performance in China continues to face pressure. According to China EV DataTracker, sales in April 2026 were recorded at 5,412 units with a market share of 0.4 per cent, continuing a downward trend that has persisted for several months. The Hyundai Ioniq V is one of several new electrification models planned for Hyundai’s product line in China, as the company expands its offerings in the country’s electric vehicle market.
