Jayapura (ANTARA) - The Nduga Regency government in Papua Pegunungan is targeting to upgrade the Elvrida Sara General Regional Hospital (RSUD) from type D to type C by 2027 through the accreditation process currently underway.

“With higher accreditation, healthcare service standards will improve further, allowing the people of Nduga to receive higher-quality services on par with other regions,” said Nduga Regent Yoas Beon in Nduga on Wednesday.

According to Yoas, the implementation of this accreditation is part of the Nduga Regency government’s commitment to enhancing the quality of healthcare services for the community.

“The success of accreditation does not only depend on medical personnel but also requires support from management, administration, and the involvement of all community elements,” he stated.

He explained that accreditation is not merely an assessment but a process to ensure that healthcare services operate according to standards, transparently, and with a focus on patient safety.

“We have launched (kick off) the accreditation for RSUD Elvrida Sara as a collective commitment because it involves leaders of regional government organisations, community figures, religious leaders, intellectuals, as well as TNI/Polri elements as a form of cross-sectoral support,” he said.

He added that his side will continue to prepare strategic steps to support the accreditation process, including improving hospital facilities, strengthening human resources, and reforming the service management system.

“We very much hope for support from all parties so that RSUD Elvrida Sara can develop into a hospital capable of providing optimal healthcare services and becoming the pride of the Nduga community,” he said.
