Navy Personnel Serve as Teachers to Revive Activities at Marfenfen Elementary School
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) has revived teaching and learning activities at Marfenfen Elementary School (SD) in Aru Islands Regency, Maluku, by sending personnel to serve as teachers on Tuesday (14/4). In an official press release from TNI AL received in Jakarta on Wednesday, it was explained that this effort aims to restart activities at SD Marfenfen, which had previously stopped due to a shortage of teaching staff. The Head of the Navy Information Service (Kadispenal) TNI, First Admiral Tunggul, when confirmed by ANTARA in Jakarta on Wednesday, stated that the assigned personnel serving as teaching staff come from the TNI AL Air Base (Lanudal) Aru. “Teaching and learning activities at the school are running again thanks to the initiative and real contribution from Lanudal Aru personnel who have taken on the role of teaching staff,” said Tunggul. Tunggul said that Lanudal Aru has deployed three personnel to teach, namely Serda MPU Muhammad Apippudin, Serda MPU Abdullah Tuasikal, and Kld MPU Vitto Firmansyah. They, continued Tunggul, will collaborate with local teachers in delivering lesson materials to the elementary school children. He said that the children appeared enthusiastic in receiving lesson materials from TNI AL personnel on the first day of the school’s operation. Tunggul hopes that with the presence of TNI AL soldiers, the students can be more enthusiastic about learning to achieve their aspirations. According to him, with the resumption of teaching and learning activities at the school, it is hoped that the students’ learning spirit and achievements will increase further. “Support from various parties is very much hoped for to maintain the continuity of teaching staff, so that efforts to create a better educational future in South Aru Islands can be realised,” he stated.
